Anthony, Con, Anthony Michael, Sammy, Dad and Terry saw mom today during the morning and early afternoon. Mom opened her eyes a few times and moved her mouth, hands, arm, feet and ankles. One of the nurses told Anthony and dad that while she worked on Friday night and early Saturday morning (the middle of the night), she came in mom's room and mom's eyes were open---and she kept them open for 20 minutes!!!! The nurse clocked it. She also told them that there is an older man on the ward who had a stroke and was in a coma for 4 months and is now in rehab and awake and on the road to recovery!!
Uncle Ray (mom's brother) and his wife, Aunt Irene, came to see mom late this afternoon. Among the songs he said he sang to mom, he said she liked, "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" and "Are You Lonesome Tonight" the best. And that she opened her eyes when he sang these songs and stared right at him!
JoAnn and I went to see mom really late tonight after Jean's play (around 11:20 p.m.) and she was sleeping but turned to our voices and held our hands for a while too. We decided to let her sleep, so we just sat quietly with her. She moved her feet and right arm while she slept and she looked sort of pensive as she slept. At one point, she startled in her sleep---I wonder if it was that dream where you are falling?
"For he will give you into the care of his angels to keep you wherever you go." Psalm 91:11
