Mom didn't open her eyes at all today but was responsive to voices, moved around alot, made different faces... The respiratory therapist told dad that they began to manipulate her vent by lowering the amount of assistance she is getting from the machine. This means that she is breathing mostly on her own on and off---dad said he was told that they will raise the machine up higher again tomorrow and lower it again the next day. Our Family Care Meeting is scheduled for Thursday morning. We also found out that one of Lenny's friend's sister is a nurse at the facility, and our social worker is very good friends with a dear friend of our family, JoAnn (JoAnn used to live with her husband and first 2 sons upstairs in the apartment at my parent's house years ago). Mom is promised preferential treatment because of these people.
One of mom's friends suggested that we start a notebook (that will be kept in her room) for notes to mom from her friends and family. If you visit and wish to write a note to mom, please feel free to do so. She'll be surprised and blessed to read these notes later on.
We thank God each day for the progress mom makes and for all the caring people in our lives.
"Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18
