Today was the 13th of the month--Mom's favorite number (her birthday,
Claudia's birthday, Jean's birthday, mom and dad's anniversary...), so dad
thought she'd wake up today...but she didn't.
-She was uncomfortable early this morning when Claudia and John were there
so the nurse pulled back on stomach tube and saw she wasn't absorbing the
"food" so the nurse put a drain in the stomach tube and manipulated her
belly to get stuff out.
-They lowered the sedation and she became even more agitated and had
labored breathing. Because of this, she was given morphine and propofol (heavier
sedation). She was calmer.
-She was very cold to the touch (ice cold) but had 101.3 fever all day
-Second set of blood culture is negative.
-Urine culture is negative!
-She is now backed up in the bowels. Xray showed back up but not impacted.
Gave her something to help with that.
When dad, Terry, Aunt Sophie and I went back to see her this evening, she
was asleep...as she was, evidently, all day (due to the meds). As I said,
you can tell when she is asleep vs. alert even with her eyes closed. She
didn't respond to us at all today...but really doped up.
Thank God that tomorrow is a new day!
