Mom had a GREAT day today!! Her eyes were open most of the day. Claudia and Terry visited her early this morning and Claudia said that Mom opened her eyes for a while and seemed to recognize her. She didn't look disoriented. Anthony, Con, Anthony Michael, Sammy, Dad and Aunt Sophie all visited next and they reported that she opened her eyes most of the afternoon!! Once, she opened them for 4 minutes!!! She also followed the command to open them as well several times. When Con called her, mom said, "WHAT?" out loud, audibly---3 times!!! She said "Ow" out loud for me later on. When I visited, she opened her eyes for most of the time I was there--too many times to count. She looked puzzled when I was there; but Dad said she seemed to recognize him too---smiling at him. I love days like this with mom. I hope the progress continues! No word from any doctors today. Lenny and I and Anthony, Con and the kids are going upstate tonight through either Sunday or Monday.
