Claudia went to deliver mom's therapies this morning and mom was very alert---eyes open wide, responding to voice, looked at Claudia's voice. The respiratory therapist spent quite some time with Claudia showing her how to clean out mom's tubing. Mom tracked Claudia and the respiratory therapist back and forth with her eyes. Lenny visited with mom most of the afternoon. Along with doing her physical therapy, he brought a book on tape and listened to it with her for several hours. The medicine nurse told Lenny that mom keeps her eyes open at least 20 minutes every night and is starting to recognize their voices!! (She does seem to have her days and nights mixed up). Dad, Terry, Claudia, and Aunt Sophie joined Lenny later in the afternoon. After mom was suctioned, they asked mom if she felt better and she nodded her head up and down---"YES"!!!!! She has never done this before!! Her eyes were open alot again too!! While sitting around in Claudia's yard tonight, we were remembering funny mom stories.
