Mom had a wonderful morning with Claudia. Claudia was crying because she had such a great visit with mom. Mom greeted her with a smile and as Claudia was sitting her up straight in the bed and straightening her out, mom was helping Claudia---grabbing the rails and pulling herself up...! Claudia gave mom her comb and mom combed her own hair!! Then Claudia and mom laughed about a private joke between them---mom belly-laughed so hard! Then Claudia gave mom 2 of the stuffed animals we use for her to hold rather than her trach line, and mom handed one to Claudia and said, "This one's for you" -- it was green and Claudia said, "Why because you think I have a pea head?" Another joke between the 2 of them and mom laughed so hard again. Mom grabbed Claudia's shirt and pointed to her pants where a make up stain was and mom began to try to wipe it off by licking her finger and rubbing it!!! (A mother's spit goes a long way!!! hahaha). Claudia gave mom a glycerin swab for her teeth and mom cleaned her mouth and teeth alone!!! As Claudia cleaned mom's ears, she must have tickled mom and mom said, "Stop that!!!" When the aide came in to see mom and say good morning, mom greeted her and as Claudia talked to the aide about mom's hearing aides and to remember to remove them before showering mom, Claudia said, "She doesn't have them today because they're being fixed" and mom said angrily, "EVERY DAY!!" meaning that she hasn't had them in a few days!!! She was annoyed!! CLaudia explained that they are being fixed. Mom had many happy faces and smiles this morning while Claudia was there. She even was able to change the channels on the TV and insisted on watching some infomercial!! When Claudia left, mom kissed her good bye and replied, "I love you too" when Claudia told her she loved her.
Mom's vent is down to the middle level and on #10 (which is good!!). Pray hard!!! They also came to do the blood work that was ordered by the neurologist too already. Thank God. Pray for no confusion there too please!
Dad and Aunt Sophie visited mom this afternoon and said she was awake but quiet...did say, "Yes" and "no" a few times though. Followed some commands for Occupational and Physical Therapists but not much so they are ending her therapies.... She was very sleepy by the time the speech therapist came too. So she may cancel in a day or 2 or even today as well. They will continue to work on her stiff neck though.
John came to be with mom late afternoon and early evening. They have a good time together. He did her physical therapy and talked and sang, and watched TV. Mom tried to talk to John but not loud enough to understand her (probably tired).
Dad and Aunt Sophie came back after dinner and mom was awake but dad said agitated somewhat (tired...). Lenny and I tucked mom in and prayed over her later this evening...she was out like a light.
