The progress continues!!!
Claudia saw mom early this morning and did all her physical therapy, cognitive therapy (IPOD Touch and Tune Into Learning---music, themes, songs, body parts and function of objects). Mom LOVES this!! We are chipping in for an IPAD for her and purchasing it tomorrow. We can put the same IPOD Touch applications on the IPAD (which is much bigger and easier to see).
Anthony, Anthony Michael and Sammy saw mom next around midday. They did her physical therapy, cognitive therapy (Tune into Learning) and flashcards. They talked to her and told her all about their first days at school and said that she stuck her tongue out, picked at a tooth!, touched her tongue with her finger, scratched her stomach, and watched TV with them. Sammy said that, while she held mom's hand, mom released her hand and began to touch and stroke Sammy's face and hair while looking at her.
Dad and John saw mom late afternoon and early evening. They did her physical therapy and talked to her. John massaged her feet and also said that mom was very alert and did much tracking with her eyes.
Lenny and I had the night shift again today (I miss seeing mom awake!! I miss her so much). We tucked her in, fixed her pillows and arms and hands, kissed her and prayed over her. As we left tonight, her CNA (Certified Nurse's Aide) stopped to talk to us and she said she can't believe how well mom is doing. She said that it is truly amazing to watch our family and how much we do and know. She said we are making such gains and progress with mom. She also said that she loves mom so much and that she is so attached to her now and that mom makes her feel so good when she looks at this CNA after the CNA calls her or says, "Hi." The CNA said that, after mom goes home, she wants us to stay in touch with her and let her know how mom is. She said that mom touched her arm today when she was talking to mom and it made the CNA cry.
Thank you so much for all the prayers. Please pray for more guidance on what to do for mom next and that God would send the right people in our path to help us help her.
"The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." Isaiah 58:11
