Mom's day was peaceful and full of all of us family members (that almost sounds like an oxymoron)!! Mom watched the "Electric Company" (an educational show) for about 1/2 an hour and she mouthed a lot of words and sentences but no one there could make out what she said (I seem to be the best family lip reader!! LOL My new calling!). She smiled a lot as she watched the show too. Claudia also showed mom the "Vegetables, Shapes and Letters" on the IPOD Touch and mom looked at them all. She was awake for about 1 1/2 hours while Dad and Claudia visited with her early today. Anthony, Con, Anthony Michael, Sammy, Jean, Alyssa (Jean's girlfriend), Ava, Aunt Carol, Terry and I all visited with mom today. After that initial burst of being awake, mom mostly slept the rest of the day and evening. She did smile at us periodically when she'd wake up and she did kiss Anthony Michael and me when we asked for a kiss. Our family all went to dinner for the New Year as we always do. We miss mom terribly....it seems like such a long time since we all got together with her and had fun. Better days are ahead. This is my prayer for us all:
