I began the day with mom before work. I woke her and she smiled at me at first but then went blank sort of... I think on purpose. She is being finicky with me again! She was bright eyed but somber...maybe still sleepy or sleeping with her eyes open!! I put her hearing aids in and glasses on and put on some Andrea Bocelli and talked to her and did some physical therapy. Then she kissed me good-bye and I left for work.
Dad saw mom in the early afternoon and said that she was awake and alert and happy to see him. He did her full physical therapy/range of motion exercises and talked to her and watched TV. He said she spoke to him too, mouthing words, but he didn't understand all of it. He said that she moved both her feet when he worked on her legs. Dad said that mom ate another banana today too and did well with eating it!! Dad also said that Aunt Carol and Tommy came to visit mom today too!!! What a treat for her!!! He said she was happy to see them but I don't have any other details...more on that tomorrow after I talk to Aunt Carol.
John came to be with mom late in the afternoon and early evening. He put her to sleep tonight too. He said that mom was sleepy. He asked her who he was and she mouthed, "John." He asked her to tell him that she loved him and she did and she told her he loved her too. He said she slept on and off and made faces like she was having a nightmare or was in pain as she slept. He said that she also tugging on her right ear too. he went to clean it and she winced. We will tell the nurse about it in the morning. He asked the nurses to put her mitts on and it took a long time for them to come put them on so that he could leave to go home.
