Hi Everyone,
Kathy and Lenny started the day with mom today. Kathy said she was awake and alert. She was talkative and looked peaceful. Kathy did full PT and mom counted with her as she did it. Kathy clipped her toenails. Mom had already eaten breakfast, but Kathy didn’t know what she had. She said a morning prayer and then left. Kathy, Lenny and Dad all went upstate for a few days. Con, Anthony, and Sam came next. Mom was being put in her chair. Mom was awake but quiet. Anthony did full PT with mom in the chair. They all watched TV and looked at magazines with mom. Terry came and spent time talking to mom and watching TV. I came in the evening and Terry left. We watched MASH on DVD. I gave mom the vocabulary easel that her friends got her for Christmas. Mom loves words and definitions. She read the word on each page and then looked at each definition. I helped her turn the page for a new word. I then took out the i-pad and she picked up the stylus and she poked at the screen. She looked at the food vocabulary (her favorite) and then I opened the blackboard app. I chose a bright color and she scribbled on the i-pad. I also opened the memory game. She poked at a few cards and they turned over, but no match. She then fell asleep. When she woke up I asked her if she wanted to play with the I-pad anymore and she said, “No.” I put it away and put the Odd Couple on TV 9VCR Tapes that con and Anthony brought). She watched and laughed a few times and then fell asleep. I did PT and then said a prayer and put her to bed. I always leave the TV on the food network (one of her favorites) and the timer for 2 hr.
