"Happy St. Patrick's Day".... Mom had a good day.
Claudia started mom's day. Smiling, alert, happy....Claudia said mom
waved "hi" and waved "bye" to her on her own. The resporitory guy came
in and said to mom " Top of the morning to you" and mom responded back
to him Top of the morning to you too". Claudia did full PT. Claudia put
on mom's head a St. Patrick's hat. She e-mailed it to us. Mom look so
cute and happy/smiling for wearing the hat. Claudia left and they were
getting mom ready for breakfast. Kathy and dad came next. Kathy said the
OT came to see mom. She ate lunch and had 12 forkfuls and drank from a
"coffee" cup.. no straw. In the midafternoon mom was awake, alert doing
great and watching tv with dad. Dad also had her pull the "orange" tube.
Kathy mentioned to one of the aids if its Ok for mom to drink more then
what she is drinking now. The dietician said absolutely. When we are
visiting with mom feel free to ask the nurses station for a her "thick
liquid drink"for mom to have between 2:00 - 8:00 . Tonight dad said mom
was in a good mood. She aid some crab salad, veggies, and ate most of it
for dinner. They look at magazines and watched tv. Dad tucked mom to bed
kiss her and said good night.
Claudia, Ava, Kathy and Lenny are at a conference for a few days in NYC.
