Mom’s update Sunday, March 6, 2011
Mom started the day with dad. He got her ready for her day. He put her hearing aids in and her glasses on. He opened the shades and raised the bed. He also did her full PT. Mom was awake and alert. Anthony and Con came next. Everyone else was at Jean’s show today. Jean was La Fou in Beauty and the Beast. Con and Anthony said that mom was in the chair when they arrived and that she was alert and awake. Anthony and Con drew on the dry erase board and I am sure Anthony made her laugh! They presented her with the nuts and bolts and reported that she moved them around the tray. They watched the Rangers vs. the Flyers hockey game and said that mom really seemed to be in tune with the game. They also did her full PT and range of motion. Anthony always comes up with great ways to stretch mom. I came in the evening and Dad was still there with mom. He said she slept a lot and didn’t really want to do anything. I sat with her and did some PT until she woke up and then I gave her the tea magazine to look at. She tried to turn pages by licking her finger but couldn’t move her arm enough to turn the page. We also watched a movie, Get Low. She seemed interested. I took out her hearing aids and took off her glasses and put her to bed.
