Mom’s update Monday, October 24, 2011

Jean started the day with mom. She had started eating when he arrived. He set her up for the day by putting her hearing aids in and lifting the blinds. After breakfast they watched Good Morning America and then Regis. Matthew Broderick was on Regis and Jean comment to mom that he was in a few Broadway shows and mom remembered that Jean was in Brighton Beach Memoires. They talked about the different shows they were in and the actors that were in those shows. Jean didn’t get to spend a lot of time with her because she was taken to the bathroom and Jean had to leave the room and then later she was taken out of bed and dressed (he had to leave again). He expressed disappointment about not being able to do much with her this morning. Jean stayed until Anthony came.

Dad went to see mom and he said she had a god day. Mom went to therapy. Anthony came today and took mom outside for a walk. I wasn’t able to get in touch with him, but I am sure he did physical work with her.

Con, Sam and Anthony Michael came to see mom in the evening. They said she was in a good mood. Dad was there when they arrived and left shortly after they got there. Mom cried when dad left. They watched TV and hung out. Mom ate quiche, veggies and a piece of corn bread. She refused to eat her veggies but ate her fruit cup. She wrote down what she ate in the memory book. After dinner they watched TV and talked. They laughed a lot. Mom was put to bed and they stayed with her for a while.
