Mom Update, November 2, 2011, Wednesday

Jean started the day with mom. She was already eating breakfast when he arrived. She drank her prune juice. Jean said she wasn’t that talkative this morning. He said she didn’t cry this morning. He put on Good Morning America and then Regis. John’s cousin came to see mom and Jean left.

Mom told John’s cousin the she wants to go home. He told her soon and she said she was tired of hearing that she will be home soon. He said that she is making great gains in the area of speech and that there isn’t much more to do with her except memory tasks. He wants a list of all her medications to see if the “twitching” is a tic side effect from one of her medicines. Mom loves when he visits and talks about the visit days later. It is one of the things she looks forward to. She actually has asked me about him during the week and if he is coming anymore.

Anthony came to see mom. She cried as soon as she saw him. She is tired of this and wants to come home. She had to go to the bathroom and her CNA came in and told him that mom was crying all morning. Anthony took her outside to change her mood. She wanted to get out of the room. He made her laugh and they had a good time. She told Anthony thank you for making her laugh. Anthony said every day that he goes for the last week she says, “I hate it here at night. There’s no one here with me.” Anthony told her that she should try to go to sleep and in the morning someone will be here.

Dad came and stayed with mom until Con and Sammy came. Nonny was really good. Nonny had mac and cheese for dinner and wrote it down on the paper in her memory book. They had a nice conversation with her roommate and the roommate’s family and mom was a part of the conversation. Mom was put in bed. Mom started to cry and said that she misses Poppy a lot. She said she is sick and tired of being there and she doesn’t like it there and wants to go home. They kissed her and left for the night.

Tomorrow we have a team mtg. for mom. Say a prayer. We are trying to find out how much longer she will have to stay and how close she is to coming home. We are also going to ask about the brace for her hand.

Peace and Be Well,

~Claud
